The popular grand finale event of the 3rd Macao International Children’s Arts Festival (MICAF), the “Where Culture Flourishes, Happiness Happens” – “MICAF Fun Day” Arts Carnival, has returned, complete with the carnival’s signature activities “Water Fun Party” and “Foam Party”.

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the carnival is held from 21-23 August and 28-30 August at the Macao Cultural Centre (CCM) Plaza in Nape.

The “Where Culture Flourishes, Happiness Happens” – “MICAF Fun Day” Arts Carnival takes the theme around the Macao International Children’s Arts Festival mascot “MICAF” and his friends, featuring large inflatable installations, water splash, foam parties and small waterslides, and transforming the plaza into a joyful summer wonderland, according to IC.

In addition to the popular “Water Party” and “Foam Party”, the event also features a food zone, kid’s dress-up corner, handicraft workshops and game booths. Interactive performances include acrobatics, magic shows, balloon twisting, clown interactions, bubble artists, rope skipping and backstage adventures.

On the small stage, there will also be children’s bucket drumming, cheerleading, kids’ street dance, little DJ performances and diabolo shows.

In addition, the event features the new sessions “Kid’s Reading Fun share”, in which parents and children can share stories and showcase their talents in the Carnival.

The Children’s Arts Festival mascot, the little elf MICAF, will present and interact with children at the event, celebrating the festive moment.

In addition, the “Where Culture Flourishes, Happiness Happens” – “Mobile Library” will provide library service at the carnival on 30 August, sharing the joy of reading with residents and tourists. Game booths themed on world heritage will also be available on site, allowing the public to learn about the Historic Centre of Macau.

Admission to the “MICAF Fun Day” Arts Carnival is free. Pre-registration is required for some activities, including “Backstage Adventures”, “Water Party”, “Water Fun Park”, “Foam Party” and “Kid’s Reading Fun share” and can be made through the Macao International Children’s Arts Festival’s website (www.icm.gov.mo/micaf). Limited seats for on-site registration will also be available and distribution is on a first-come, first-served basis.
