Temperature in Macau is forecast to drop to as low as 18 degrees Celsius between Monday and Wednesday in the coming week as a northeast monsoon is expected to arrive in Southern China coastal area during daytime tomorrow, bringing winds and gradual drop in temperatures.

Meanwhile, as of 2 am last night, Tropical Storm Fengshen is forecast to enter the South China Sea later on Sunday, according to the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG).

The weather bureau will closely monitor and assess Fengshen’s development and direct impact on Macau.

Under the combined influence of the northeast monsoon and Fengshen, winds in the SAR will become quite strong from Monday, reaching force 6 to 7 with gusts, with a few rain patches expected between Monday and Wednesday, during which the lowest temperatures are forecast to drop to around 18 degrees.

Furthermore, due to the significant temperature drop coupled with stronger winds and cloudy, rainy conditions, the perceived temperature is expected to be lower than the actual temperature. The public is advised to pay attention to the latest weather updates. (Gilbert Humphrey)
