UM PUBLISHES ‘CHRONICLE OF MACAO (1999-2024)’ 

The University of Macau (UM) will establish five science and technology faculties through the restructuring of part of its existing faculties, with these five faculties scheduled to start operating on 1 August and the move expected to increase its student enrolment in science and technology disciplines to some 14,500 in the future, according to the university. 

The university currently has five faculties in humanities and social sciences as well as two faculties in science and technology. 

Meanwhile, the UM’s Faculty of Health (FHS) has collaborated with local secondary schools to deliver a series of science talks during the first of the 2025/2026 academic year, attracting over 800 students, with topics ranging from genetics and epidemiology to artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare and the modernisation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). 

The talks aimed to enhance young people’s scientific literacy and spark their interest in health sciences, according to UM. – GNM
