The Macao University of Tourism (UTM) has ranked 1st in Asia and Macau, as well as 10th globally, in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for hospitality and leisure management, according to the university.
Over 1,500 institutions worldwide were evaluated in this subject area for the 2026 rankings. The QS World University Rankings rate universities across the globe by individual topic areas. The placings take into consideration factors such as academic reputation, employer reputation and citations per paper.
Meanwhile, UTM and Ningbo University recently signed a cooperation agreement to further enhance exchanges and collaboration in talent development and academic research.
The signing ceremony was held at Mong-Há Campus, with the agreement signed by UTM Rector Fanny Vong and Zhang Ruili, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ningbo University.
Under the agreement, a special recommendation mechanism has been established, allowing Ningbo University to recommend outstanding bachelor’s degree graduates annually for admission to master’s degree programmes at UTM. Additionally, both universities will exchange students, and also encourage joint academic research to advance scholarly development.
Moreover, UTM held its 2026 Career Day at the university’s Taipa Campus on Wednesday featuring over 1,200 full-time and internship job vacancies.
A total of 64 organisations from various sectors, including those from other parts of the Greater Bay Area (GBA), set up booths at the event, providing job details and employment information in Macau SAR and the GBA, as well as the latest trend in the job market to UTM graduating students.
