The “PSG Academy Macau Youth GBA Tournament 2026” was successfully held at the Macau Workers’ Stadium from 4-5 April.
Sponsored by CTF Life, the tournament was organised by PSG Academy GBA, with Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau as a partner, Freewill Cultural Communication, Event and Exhibition Company Limited, as well as Fanatics China as supporting partners, and Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 as the venue sponsor for the event’s welcome dinner.
The tournament aims to promote youth development through football, providing young players with a valuable platform to grow via sport and build confidence, according to a press release issued by the organisers.
PSG Academy GBA Chief Executive Officer Yannick Ngassa, Chief Executive Officer pointed out in an opening speech at the event’s kick-off ceremony that PSG Academy has been actively expanding its presence across the Greater Bay Area (GBA) in recent years, establishing multiple training centres to provide young players with more accessible and professional football development pathways.
He said the academy’s coaching team, comprising certified coaches from Paris Saint-Germain Academy and UEFA, focuses on enhancing players’ technical skills, discipline, and team spirit.
With the football landscape in the Greater Bay Area rapidly developing, the tournament has become a key stage for regional exchange, enabling young players to sharpen their skills, broaden their horizons, as well as experience the excitement and spirit of the game together, according to the press release.
This year’s two-day tournament brings together over 20 youth teams from across the GBA, competing in four categories: U9, U11, U13, and U15 – totalling about several hundreds of young players who showcased their skills throughout the event. – GNM
