The 36th Macao Arts Festival (MAF) will be held from 8 May to 27 June, presenting 15 selected programmes and nine outreach activities that cover theatre, dance, Cantonese opera and visual arts, according to the event’s organiser, Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).
The bureau held a press conference (pictured) at the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) earlier this week to announce the details of this year’s festival.
Themed “New Streams of Inspiration”, this year’s event highlights Macau’s role as a pivotal hub of the Maritime Silk Road, honouring its historical and cultural heritage while forging contemporary perspectives, bringing together artworks from various countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road and new works from Mainland China and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA), bridging the past and the present with the works from home and abroad, creating an artistic feast of cultural diversity, according to IC.
Meanwhile, tickets for five local programmes in this year’s festival are on sale from today. Details can be found via this link.
The 36th MAF is supported by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), TDM and MGM. For more information visit the festival’s official website. – GNM
