The Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government remains firmly committed to safeguarding the employment rights and interests of local residents, including creating better conditions for Macau’s youth and expanding their employment opportunities, Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai stressed during a plenary session at the Legislative Assembly (AL) on 16 June.
In the same plenary session, the chief executive (pictured) also said that the government would adopt multiple measures to steadily advance Macau’s urban renewal and tangibly improve residents’ living conditions, from top-level planning and legal system improvements to administrative support and financial investment, according to a press release issued by the Government Information Bureau (GCS).
Meanwhile, Sam also said that accelerating the appropriate diversification of the city’s economy remains a key policy priority for the MSAR Government, while outlining a range of measures to advance the process, including strengthening policy support, increasing financial investment, and optimising the city’s business environment.
Overall, the chief executive pointed out that the MSAR Government’s work planned for the first half of 2026 has achieved positive results, adding that the government will continue to unite all sectors of the society, seize the major opportunities presented by the country’s 15th Five-Year Plan, and effectively implement its policy agenda for the remainder of the year, while striving to achieve all annual policy objectives.
