Researchers from the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) have recently found a new species of box jellyfish in Mai Po nature reserve. The about 1.5-centimetre cube-bodied jellyfish – known to be the most venomous animal in the ocean – has six eyes on each side of its body, totalling 24. The new species has been named tripedalia maipensis, after the Mai Po nature reserve, according to various media reports.
