Macau’s Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has launched a competition for public art installations and public facility design schemes to reflect the landscape characteristics of Coloane’s Lai Chi Vun Shipyard area, highlight the educational significance of inheriting the culture of Macau’s bygone shipbuilding industry, increase public participation and capture the younger generation’s creative ideas.

The bureau is now accepting applications for the “Lai Chi Vun Shipyards – Plots X11 to X15 Design Proposal for Public Art Installations and Public Facilities Open Call” until 13 July, with the submission deadline set at 5 pm on 15 August. Organised by the bureau, the competition is coordinated by Architects Association of Macau (AAM) and supported by Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG). For more information visit the competition’s website or contact 2870 3458.
