The long-awaited Chimelong Marine Science Park – originally scheduled to open in 2021 – will finally open to the public during this summer holiday, Zhuhai authorities announced in a press conference recently. The marine park, set to become the largest indoor theme park in the world, is part of the second phase of Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort in Hengqin Island. No exact opening date was announced.
The park will reportedly have 10 themed areas that display around 300 species of marine animals – over 100,000 in total, according to a report by Macau News Agency (MNA).
