Local amateur artist Joaquim Kyong, an assistant professor of linguistics at the University of Macau (UM), will showcase his recent artworks – inspired by the 1952 classic film “Macao” by the late Austrian-born US filmmaker Josef von Sternberg – featuring mixed media paintings, porcelain, prints and photographic installations at Creative Macau gallery, which is located in the Macao Cultural Centre (CCM) complex in Nape, from 20 July to 19 August. Entitled “Gleaming Dreams”, Kuong’s exhibition will recreate and reinterpret the “movie-going experience by means of gleaming lights and colours”, according to the exhibition’s information. Kuong’s work has appeared in joint exhibitions in Macau and Thailand. For more information visit Creative Macau’s website.
