The Chimelong Spaceship – previously-named Chimelong Marine Science Park – will have its soft opening this month, set to become the world’s largest indoor theme park. Macau’s Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong has reportedly paid a preview visit to the 400,000-square-metre park housed in a 650-metre-long spaceship-shaped structure. The park is expected to accommodate over 50,000 visitors daily, according to a report by Macau News Agency (MNA).
Originally scheduled to open in 2021, the Chimelong Spaceship is part of the second phase of Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort in Hengqin Island. The park will reportedly have 10 themed areas that displays around 300 species of marine animals – over 100,000 in total.
