Since the world returned back to post-pandemic normal, tourism has been revived. Unfortunately for Japan, however, this has created an overcrowding by foreign tourists flocking to the nation’s sacred Mount Fuji, leading to dirty restrooms in the area and an increasing amount of litter found on the climbing path – all can be seen in various social media posts. Some local visitors now think that restrictions on the daily number of visitors may be the only way to preserve the mountain, according to various reports. (Wong Kin Ang)
