The “5th Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries” will be held from October to December this year, involving nearly 600 artists and performers.
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) with the support of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), TDM, Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) and Air Macau, this year’s edition aims to intensity mutual learning among the participating countries and regions, embrace heritage and innovation, and enhance dialogues and bonds among people in a bid to further extend the diversity and scope of the cultural encounter, according to IC.
The event not only integrates the “2023 GEG Lusofonia Festival” but also features 70 sessions of activities in seven series, including the “Annual Arts Exhibition between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries”, “China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival”, a Portuguese Fado concert, “Chinese and Portuguese Picture Book Fair”, “Traditional Music and Dance Performance in the Community” and wine tasting workshops, according to the 5th Encounter in Macao’s press conference held at the Taipa Houses yesterday.
