Vietnam has recently become the second-largest shrimp supplier in the world with about 13-14 per cent of the total global value, according to a report by Vietnam News Agency. Europe, United States, Japan, China and South Korea are the Southeast Asian country’s five biggest shrimp export markets. Vietnam currently exports shrimp to about 100 countries and regions. Vietnam Customs said, however, the country’s shrimp export revenue in this year’s first 10 months decreased by 24 per cent year-on-year to about US$2.8 billion, according to a report by Xinhua.
