This restaurant was opened in 2016 and has since become one of Macau’s top eateries serving Indonesian cuisine. Its owner, Indah Handayani Sunardi, who is better-known as “Mbak Loly” (“Sister Loly”) among Indonesians in town, is personally involved in the restaurant’s day-to-day operation – she is the head chef after all.

Wardo Macau maybe new in town but its presence is already widely-known – thanks to its delicious Indonesian dishes. Interestingly, they have karaoke too for those waiting for their orders to be served. It was opened in November 2021 at the exact same spot where another Indonesian restaurant, Sambal Jawa, used to operate. The word “wardo” is a portmanteau of Indonesian words “warung” (“shop”) and “Indo”, which is a short form of the word Indonesia.

Don Quijote Macau has always been known as one of Macau’s best Spanish restaurants. But earlier this year, the restaurant started offering Southeast Asian cuisine too, including some Indonesian dishes. This was great news for Taipa residents craving for Indonesian food as they no longer needed to cross over the bridge – just walk to the Old Taipa Village area.
