Horta da Mitra Market and the surrounding hawker area, which have been temporarily closed for reorganisation works since March and August 2023, respectively, will reopen on 9 January. The organisation works were carried out as the market, built in 1939, already had dilapidated sewerage network, heat dissipation and ventilation, lighting and other facilities. The market now has 18 stalls, while the surrounding hawker area has 14 stalls.
