The Macau IC2 Association and the Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau have again joined forces to hold the association’s annual World Earth Day for the fourth consecutive year tomorrow.
Themed “Planet vs. Plastic”, this year’s event will begin at 3:55 pm with a launch ceremony and group photo, continued with the event’s signature “Green Walk” from the Fisherman’s Wharf to the Outdoor Lawn at the Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau, where a series of activities will be held.
Among the activities this year will be an environmental talk, pickleball game demonstration, tree planting and some performances. The event is open for the public. Admission is free.
This year’s theme aims to raise awareness on the impact of using disposable plastic utensils and similar tools on the planet.
Both the Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau and Macau IC2 “share the belief and concept of sustainability” and are committed to doing their part in protecting the environment, according to a press release from Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau.
Moreover, the objective of Macau IC2’s “World Earth Day” is to mobilise people with intellectual disabilities and autism to promote environmental protection awareness. “If they can take care of Earth, other citizens can do the same,” the association has pointed out in the past.
Earth Day is celebrated every 22 April in celebration and promotion of environmental protection. (Gilbert Humphrey)
