The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) is currently holding a special exhibition on birds, entitled “The Marvels of Flying Birds”, at the Pavilion of Animal Specimens in Macao, located in Coloane, introducing to visitors the birds’ various unique structures evolved to adapt to their flying habits.

The exhibition also showcases multiple specimens of insects found in Macau to complement the annual theme of “World Migratory Bird Day – Protect Insects, Protect Birds”.

Celebrated on the second Saturday of May and October every year, the World Migratory Bird Day this year falls on today and 12 October. Under the theme of “Protect Insects, Protect Birds”, it focuses on the importance of insects as essential energy sources on the survival of migratory birds along their migratory journeys.
