The University of Saint Joseph’s (USJ) Institute of Science and Environment (ISE) is currently organising the “Macao’s Wetland Treasures: 2024 Biodiversity Photography Competition”.

Sponsored by The Drop by Drop project within the context of the new ISE project “One Drop at a Time: Exploring Biodiversity in Macao’s Urban Wetland Ecosystems and the Role of Water Stewardship”, the contest invites photographers of all levels to capture the unique charm of Macau’s wetland ecosystems.

Participants can submit snapshots – taken between January and August this year and showcasing the diverse flora and fauna that make the local wetlands extraordinary – by 30 August.

The competition aims to promote awareness and appreciation of Macau’s coastal wetlands and biodiversity. It is open to all individuals or organisations in Macau. Submitted works will be evaluated based on representation of biodiversity, aesthetic composition and technical quality.

Winners will receive trophies and cash prizes of MOP 2,000 (1st), MOP 1,500 (2nd), MOP 1,000 (3rd) and MOP 200 (Distinction) each. For details about the competition visit USJ’s website or e-mail usjbiodiversitywash@gmail.com. (Wong Kin Ang)
