Myrna Esguerra of Abra and Jasmin Bungay of Pampanga won this year’s Binibining Pilipinas, the oldest active national beauty pageant in the Philippines, during the final event at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City last Sunday.
The beauty pageant selects two winners to be sent to Miss International and Miss Globe pageants.
Esguerra, a 22-year-old model turned environmental preservation advocate, was declared Binibining Pilipinas International 2024 and will represent the Philippines in the 62nd Miss International pageant in Tokyo on 12 November, while 26-year-old model and teacher Bungay is Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2024 and will compete in Miss Globe later this year.
Meanwhile, Christal Jean de la Cruz of Zambales and Trisha Martinez of Pila, Laguna were declared first and second runners-up, respectively, in the Binibining Pilipinas 2024. (Yip Kiu)
