The tender submission deadline for the Kam Pek Market Tenant Recruitment has been extended to 6 pm tomorrow due to Super Typhoon Yagi that affected Macau for a few days this week, SJM Resorts has announced in a statement.
“SJM Resorts recognises the potential disruption to businesses and individuals preparing their tender submissions,” the statement points out. Hence, the deadline for submission was extended “in order to ensure fairness and provide all tenderers sufficient time to submit their proposals”.
The local integrated resort company announced in a press conference last month that the Kam Pek Community Centre located on Macau’s main thoroughfare Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro – also known in Cantonese as San Ma Lo – would be transformed into a 13,000-square-feet, 270-seat culinary hub called “Kam Pek Market”.
The market will feature various international and casual dining options, shopping, entertainment, as well as art and cultural offerings, with the project’s first phase to include 10 food stalls, according to the press conference.
The current tender is for the first floor, with stall operators expected to move into the premises between the end of the year and the coming Chinese New Year (29 January 2024).
