The Macao University of Tourism (UTM) team won three Medallions for Excellence at the 47th WorldSkills Competition that took place in Lyon, France from 10-15 September, according to UTM.
The competition brought together over 1,400 outstanding competitors from around the world, with Macau representatives trained by UTM, which has been entrusted by the Labour Affairs Bureau to serve as the representative entity for Macau’s participation in the WorldSkills Competition since 2015.
Macau has participated in various categories including Hotel Reception, Bakery, Pâtisserie and Confectionery, Restaurant Service, as well as Cooking.
This year, after several days of intense competition, UTM students Huang Wenyi and Chan Chi Lek brought back Medallions for Excellence in Cooking and Hotel Reception, respectively. In addition, University of Macau (UM) student Nelia Choi Rodrigues won the Medallion for Excellence in the category of Restaurant Service.
