The “Memories‧Legacies‧Mutations–Annual Arts Exhibition between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries” was launched at the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) on Friday last week, showcasing over 130 works of Chinese and Portuguese contemporary art.

The museum is located in the Macao Cultural Centre (CCM) complex in Nape.

Jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) and Wynn Resorts (Macau), the exhibition is part of the ongoing “6th Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”.

The exhibition features 20 Chinese and foreign artists, including those coming from various Portuguese-speaking countries. The artworks include painting, videos and multimedia interactive installations.

With the theme of “Memories‧Legacies‧Mutations”, the exhibition presents a new contemporary art context formed by the cultural fusion through the artworks that link the past, the present and the future, leading the public to reflect on the continuity and diversity of cultures, according to IC.

Meanwhile, as part of this year’s “Annual Arts Exhibition between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries”, renowned Brazilian street artist Eduardo Kobra was invited to create a public artwork live at Rua da Felicidade.

The exhibition is held at MAM as well as at the Exhibitions Gallery of the Taipa Houses, from 10 am to 7 pm daily including public holidays, except Monday, until 9 February 2025, while the public artwork will be exhibited on Rua da Felicidade from January 2025.
