Last month’s visitor arrivals totalled 3,646,561, representing a 27.4-per cent increase year-on-year, according to data from Macau’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Meanwhile, same-day visitors (2,155,279) and overnight visitors (1,491,282) rose by 45.6 and 7.9 per cent year-on-year, respectively, while the average length of stay of visitors (1.0 day) shortened by 0.2 day year-on-year in January, due to the growth in the proportion of same-day visitors in the total number of arrivals.
Moreover, the duration of stay for same-day visitors (0.3 day) went up by 0.1 day while that for overnight visitors (2.2 days) remained unchanged.
Based on the source of visitors, those visiting from mainland China increased by 33.8 per cent year-on-year to 2,750,284 last month, while international visitors totalled 241,131 in January, up by 21% year-on-year. Click this link for more information.
