The number of labour force in Macau and the city’s total employment in the March-May period decreased by 400 and 200, respectively to 380,200 and 373,000 people, while the number of local residents who were employed during the period rose by 300 to 282,200, according to data from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Meanwhile, the SAR’s general unemployment rate and the unemployment rate of local residents for March-May 2025 remained the same as the previous period of February-April, standing at 1.9 and 2.5 per cent, respectively.
