Junior Chamber International (JCI) Macao China held the “2025 International Human Duties Day – Ten Outstanding Young Persons Sharing and Volunteer Awards” at Nova Mall in Taipa yesterday.
Launched by JCI in 2022 and celebrated every 10 July, the International Human Duties Day (IHDD) champions the idea that rights must be matched by Civic Responsibility. Through global campaigns, petitions, and grassroots actions, IHDD promotes seven core duties that drive justice, peace, and sustainability. As efforts grow to have IHDD officially recognised by the UN, individuals are called to move beyond entitlement and take active ownership of building a better world, according to JCI’s website.
This year’s theme was “Responsibilities Together, World in Unity”.
Yesterday’s event featured a variety of interactive and engaging activities, performances and booth games, among others.
Formed in the United States in 1915, JCI is a not-for-profit international non-governmental organisation of young people aged 18-40, with members in about 127 countries and regions around the world. (Gilbert Humphrey)
