Macau SAR Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai (pictured, right) met with his Hong Kong counterpart, John Lee Ka-chiu (left), at the Macau Government Headquarters on Tuesday to discuss further strengthening cooperation between the two SARs, including collaborative development in tourism.
Both chief executives exchanged views on advancing high-quality growth in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA), as well as exploring new opportunities in the second-phase development of the Guangdong-Macau Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, according to Macau’s Government Information Bureau (GCS).
Meanwhile, Sam also met with Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng at the Macau Government Headquarters on Thursday, during which the two exchanged views on key areas and on projects for a new round of practical cooperation between Shanghai and Macau that will jointly serve the national development strategy, as well as the socioeconomic development of both places. Additionally, both leaders witnessed a signing ceremony for multiple cooperation agreements between both places after their meeting. – GNM
