The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) issued a statement yesterday urging the public to stop consumption of a strawberry jam product due to possible presence of foreign objects after the bureau was informed of an announcement regarding the matter made by the Centre for Food Safety of Hong Kong and Rappel Conso of France.

According to the announcement, a pre-packaged strawberry jam product may contain glass shards.

The brand of the strawberry jam involved is “BONNE MAMAN”. The product name is “CONFITURES de fraises en mini pots verre de 30 g”, with a weight of 30 grams. The Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) is 3045320070361; batches are K154 and K155; minimum durability date is 30/06/2028.

IAM is paying attention to the incident for continuous follow-up, urging members of the sector in possession of the products to stop supplying and selling the involved products.

As a precautionary measure, IAM urges consumers to immediately stop consuming the affected batches of products, regardless of whether they were purchased online, via a purchasing agent, or through other channels.

The bureau will continue to monitor the situation to prevent the affected products from circulating in the market.
