The “China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival” will be held from 14 November to 5 December.
Themed “Transcending Boundaries”, the festival is organised by Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) with Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) as the opening ceremony partner. Furthermore, the festival is integrated in the 7th Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival Between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries, which runs from October to December.
This year’s festival showcases films from China, the Portuguese-speaking countries, Japan and South Korea, presenting cross-regional stories of humanity on the silver screen, with outreach activities such as a community screening, post-screening talks and workshops to also be held during the event.
Moreover, this edition will present nearly 30 outstanding film productions across five sections: “Key East Asian Filmmaker: Zhang Lu”, “Cross-cultural, Cross-regional”, “Premiere of Chinese and Lusophone Films”, “Chinese-Portuguese Short Films” and “Community Screening”.
The festival will kick off with the Chinese comedy “Green Wave” as the opening film, which will be screened at Galaxy Macau’s Galaxy Cinemas on 14 November.
