The “New Momentum – Cultured Bay Area, Brilliant Intangible Cultural Heritage: Showcase of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intangible Cultural Heritage” will be held in Macau from 1 November this year to 15 March 2026, according to Macau’s Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).

The showcase is jointly organised by Guangdong Province’s Department of Culture and Tourism, Hong Kong SAR’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and IC, as well as coordinated by Shenzhen Municipality’s Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, as well as the Macao Museum and Hong Kong’s Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

Moreover, it is co-organised by the Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum – the Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center – and Hong Kong SAR Government’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Office.

The showcase will feature a thematic exhibition, interactive craft demonstrations, experiential workshops, as well as cultural and creative products’ sale.

The thematic exhibition, “New Momentum”, will be held on the 3rd floor of the Macao Museum from 2 November through 15 March. Meanwhile, the Macao Museum is open to the public for free from 1 to 3 November.

The museum is open from 10 am to 6 pm daily, except Mondays. Last admission is at 5:30 pm.

Furthermore, the thematic exhibition will boast over 50 representative intangible cultural items from the Greater Bay Area (GBA), such as Cantonese Embroidery, Coloured Silk Weaving, Woodcarving, and Cantonese Porcelain.

In addition, the showcase’s interactive craft demonstrations will take place at the Mount Fortress Garden and Macao Museum from 1 to 2 November, while Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultural Creative Product Sales Booths will be set up at Mount Fortress Garden from 1 to 3 November.

The showcase is the first large itinerant exhibition dedicated to GBA’s intangible cultural heritage. The first stop was held in Hong Kong in October 2024, followed by a second stop in Shenzhen earlier this year.
