GENERAL YE TING’S FORMER RESIDENCE IN MACAU REOPENS

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has completed its work in upgrading the permanent exhibition in the General Ye Ting’s Former Residence and the venue officially reopened to the public on Thursday. 

The reopening ceremony was held on Wednesday, officiated by Secretary for Social Affairs O Lam, IC President Leong Wai Man, as well as Wan Sucheng, Director of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR, among others. 

In addition, the general’s grandchildren, Yip Siu Yin and Ye Tiejun, were among the officiating guests.

Meanwhile, during the reopening ceremony, Long accepted a calligraphic work written by Yip Ying, a grandson of General Ye Ting, which is being displayed at the residence. 

The upgrading work aimed to “further enhance patriotic education resources and more effectively showcase the exceptional contributions of General Ye Ting to modern Chinese history, according to IC. 

With its reopening, the General Ye Ting’s Former Residence will join other museums such as the Xian Xinghai Memorial Museum and the Zheng Guanying Memorial Museum in jointly celebrating the great patriotic spirit in modern Chinese history and inspiring patriotism among the youth of Macau, IC has pointed out.
