The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will present this year’s Chinese New Year celebratory parade, “Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Horse”, between 19 February and 8 March, which will include float parade, cultural performances, float exhibition and online games, among others.
The tourism office announced the details of the programme, along with two other Chinese New Year events, in a press conference held on Tuesday.
The two other events are the “2026 Chinese New Year Activities” and, as an innovative debut, the “2026 Chinese New Year Drones and Fireworks Displays”.
All these mega festivities are part of the “Happy Chinese New Year” celebrations organised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to foster cultural exchange with the world, according to MGTO.
As a major highlight, the float parade will dazzle the vicinity of Sai Van Lake and northern district on the 3rd day (19 February) and 12th day (28 February) of Chinese New Year, respectively, striving to energise community tourism and the nighttime economy.
The parade at Sai Van Lake area on 19 February 26 will feature about 1,300 performers from Macau, Hong Kong, mainland China, Portugal, Spain, Korea and the Philippines, with a fleet of 17 floats.
Macau and Hong Kong celebrity hosts Germano Guilherme (German Ku), Sabrina Mendes and Bob Lam will be the emcees in this parade, which will also present music performances by Macau boy bands Daze in White and TiDe, Macau singers Germano Guilherme and Josie Ho, Hong Kong singer Mike Tsang, as well as Hong Kong girl groups Honey Punch and IdG Bubbles.
TDM and Macao Cable TV will air the live broadcast and recorded programs of the parade on several channels for more audiences to enjoy the Parade at home.
Furthermore, the float parade in the SAR’s northern district on 28 February will also present 17 floats, with a finale show of cultural and artistic performances at Iao Hon Market Garden, featuring Hong Kong and Macau artists Andrew Chan, Winnie Lam and Kane Ao Ieong.

Meanwhile, MGTO will hold three sessions of “2026 Chinese New Year Drones and Fireworks Displays”
Weaving together pyrotechnic and drone arts for the first time, the displays will dazzle the sky with fireworks and 3,888 drones in formation above the sea overlooked by Macau Tower in symphony with music and laser effects.
The three sessions will be held at 9:45 pm on 19 February, as well as at 9 pm on 23 February and 3 March, each spanning about 15 minutes.
Spectators can enjoy the drones and fireworks displays at six vantage points: Anim’Arte NAM VAN, from Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre to Leisure Area of Kun Iam Statue Waterfront on Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, Avenida de Sagres (next to Mandarin Oriental, Macau), waterfront at Macao Science Center (MSC), Caminho Marginal do Lago (next to YOHO Treasure Island Hotel) and Avenida do Oceano in Taipa.
Background music will stream from sound systems installed at the above locations for a blend of audiovisual enjoyment and greater festive sparks.
The “2026 Chinese New Year Activities”, meanwhile, will present the “Golden Dragon Parade” and other performances in several locations across Macau on the 1st and 2nd days of Chinese New Year (17-18 February).
