The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will hold the Chinese New Year Market at Tap Seac Square from noon to midnight between 10 February and 15 February, as well as from noon on 16 February to 1 am on 17 February, this year’s Chinese New Year’s Day, the bureau has announced.
There will be 16 stalls selling Chinese New Year products, six stalls selling festive flowers and four stalls selling snacks on site. During the activity, a variety of cultural and entertainment performances will be arranged at the square, with a large floral art exhibition and festive lighting decorations also set up.
In addition, the bureau will set up an area for lighting firecrackers in Taipa near the waterfront in Estrada Almirante Marques Esparteiro, with six stalls selling firecrackers and fireworks, among others.
The opening hours for this area for lighting firecrackers will be from noon on 16 February to 1 am on 17 February, as well as from 10 am to midnight on 17-21 February.
Furthermore, to facilitate the public’s purchase of pinwheels, incense and other festive products during the Chinese New Year, IAM will set up 10 temporary stalls selling incense and pinwheels on the pavement on waterfront in Largo do Pagode da Barra, which will operate from 6 pm to midnight on 16 February, from midnight to 6:30 pm on 17 February, as well as from 9 am to 6:30 pm on 18 February and 23 February.
