The “2026 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon” will be held on 6 December, and the organising committee announced the event’s details and registration arrangements in a press conference held yesterday.
The event is organised by the Sports Bureau (ID), Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and the General Association of Athletics of Macau (AGAM).
Friday’s press conference was attended by ID President Leong Wai Man, GEG Director Philip Cheng, as well as AGAM Supervisory Committee Chairman Ng Iok Tong, among others.
Leong, who has been Macau’s culture chief for many years, started serving concurrently as ID President since last Sunday, which is part of the preparation to merge the city’s IC, ID and the Cultural Development Fund (FDC), which is scheduled to take place in November.
Leong said the “Macao International Marathon” has grown alongside the city and flourished together with the local sports industry.
It stands as a signature event in Macau’s efforts to promote diversified development of sports, she added.
Meanwhile, registration will start at 9 am on 3 October for the marathon and the half-marathon, and at 9 am 4 October for the mini marathon, with 2,000 places available for the marathon, 5,000 for the half marathon and 5,000 for the mini marathon, according to ID.
The start point will be located at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium, with the marathon and half marathon races starting at 6 am and the mini marathon starting at 6:20 am. The marathon and half-marathon courses will pass by the Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge and the World Heritage attraction A-Ma Temple and run along the Sai Van Bridge.
Registration can be done via the event’s website at or the “Macao Marathon” mobile application. Places are limited for each category and registration will be closed when all places are filled.
Participants may collect their number bib, timing chip and the notes to participants on M/F of Broadway Macau between 2 and 5 December by presenting their registration receipt and identification document. More details can be found via this link.
