The University of Macau (UM) is currently showcasing various artworks by Greater Bay Area (GBA) masters as well as the university’s faculty members and students in an exhibition held at its Wu Yee Sun Library’s Exhibition Hall.
Titled “Celebrating the 45th Anniversary of the University of Macau—An Artistic Ode to the Bay Area: Chinese Painting Sketching Exhibition by Greater Bay Area Masters and UM Faculty & Students”, the exhibition features over 80 exhibits, showcasing the tradition of sketching in Chinese painting and highlighting the vitality of Chinese painting in the contemporary era, according to UM.
The exhibition is jointly organised by the Centre for Chinese History and Culture (CCHC) and the Department of Fine Arts of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at UM, as well as the Contemporary Lingnan Art Research Institute.
CCHC Director Zhang Yan pointed out in the opening ceremony that the exhibition serves as a platform for artistic exchange and cultural integration within the GBA, while fostering a sincere dialogue between artists, the times and the land.
He also said the centre will continue to build cultural bridges linking masters with faculty and students, Macau with the GBA, as well as tradition with the future.
The exhibition is open daily from 10 am to 5:30 pm, including public holidays, until 6 November. Admission is free. More details are available via this link.
