The Macau Government has confirmed that it will not distribute any more e-consumption benefits, which were enjoyed by both the city’s permanent and temporary residents over the past three years. The fund, given in the form of electronic funds or an e-consumption card, has been distributed several times since the beginning of Covid-19 pandemic in early 2022. Now that borders have reopened and the city’s economy is gradually recovering, Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong said during a recent Legislative Assembly session that the government was not likely to continue the temporary economic measure.
