LAI CHI VUN SHIPYARTS – PLOTS X11-X15 INAUGURATED CREATING A SPACE FOR CULTURAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES DEDICATED TO THE THEME OF SHIPBUILDING INDUSTRY

In order to promote the revitalisation of the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards and create a space for cultural and recreational activities dedicated to the theme of Macau’s shipbuilding industry, the city’s Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has initiated a restoration plan for the shipyards from 2021. The opening ceremony of the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards – Plots X11-X15 was held last weekend. Among the officials attending the event were Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Elsie Ao Ieong, IC President Leong Wai Man, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, as well as the Deputy Director of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macau, Yin Rutao. The opening event was held in a lively atmosphere and featured lion dance, cultural and music performances.
