The “Art Exhibition of Higher Education Institutions” was inaugurated at the Museum of Art of the University of Macau (UM) yesterday. Part of Macau’s ongoing “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023” (Art Macao), the exhibition is organised by Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), co-organised by Education and Youth Development Board (DSEDJ) and supported by the UM.
Four academies of fine arts from mainland China and four higher education institutions from Macau – comprising Central Academy of Fine Arts, China Academy of Art, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and the UM – were invited to participate in the exhibition.
A total of 24 pieces or sets of student works are showcased in the exhibition that aims to enhance local youths’ creativity and promote inter-university artistic exchanges, while “injecting more innovative vitality into the development of Art Macao”, according to IC.
The exhibition is open daily, from 10 am to 7 pm, until 5 November. The UM’s Museum of Art is located in the Wu Yee Sun Library. Admission is free. For more information contact 8822 8157/8988 4000. For more information about Art Macao visit its official website.
