Macau’s main thoroughfare Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, better-known as San Ma Lo, will be closed to vehicles for several days during this year’s Chinese New Year. Pedestrians can stroll along the 450-metre-long road from 12 pm on 22 January until 10 pm on 24 January, and from 12 pm on 4 February through 10 pm on the next day, according to the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).
Meanwhile, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will present Chinese New Year Fireworks Displays at 9:45 pm on 24 and 28 January, as well as at 9 pm on 5 February. In addition, the “2023 Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Rabbit” is set to take place in the city’s central and northern districts on 24 and 28 January. This year’s Chinese New Year starts on 22 January.
