PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), a high-speed train joint venture between Indonesia’s PT Pilar Sinergi BUMN Indonesia (PSBI) by 60 per cent and China’s state-owned consortium company Beijing Yawan HSR Co. Ltd. by 40 per cent, launched its Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train Whoosh in the Indonesian capital on 2 October and the number of daily passengers exceeded 11,000, for the first time, on 21 October. A total of 11,329 passengers were recorded that day. However, the figure went back down to 10,968 passengers the next day. (Pandu Tirtayasa)
