The inauguration ceremony for Indonesia’s president-elect Prabowo Subianto and vice president-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka, son of outgoing president Joko Widodo, is taking place in Jakarta today, after which Prabowo officially becomes the Southeast Asian nation’s 8th president.
Prabowo, who is the ex-husband of Siti Hediati Hariyadi (best known as Titiek Suharto), a daughter of the late former Indonesian president Suharto, and Gibran will be Indonesia’s president and vice-president, respectively, for the period of 2024-2029. (Yip Kiu)
