Macau experienced very cold weather yesterday with local temperature ranging from 6 to 11 degrees Celsius throughout the day and the cold spell is expected to remain in the region this weekend. Macau’s temperatures are predicted to range from 7 to 14 degrees throughout Saturday and Sunday, before it gets a bit warmer on Monday and Tuesday (8 to 18 degrees). The local temperature on Wednesday and Thursday are predicted to range from 13 to 19 degrees Celsius, according to Macau’s Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG).
Meanwhile, Hong Kong Observatory yesterday recorded a sub-zero temperature of -1.6 degrees Celsius at the city’s highest peak, Tai Mo Shan, as the neighbouring SAR experienced its coldest winter solstice in around 24 years, according to various media reports. (Wong Kin Ang)
