The Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) has officially changed its name to Macao University of Tourism or Universidade de Turismo de Macau (UTM) in Portuguese effective today, the education institution announced today.
In addition, the university’s official website has been changed to utm.edu.mo (including the e-mail addresses). However, the old website (iftm.edu.mo) will continue to work for a transition period until the end of this year.
UTM’s mission is to become a leading higher education institution in internationalised tourism and service industry studies that equips students with professional knowledge and technical competence in preparation for taking on leadership responsibilities in the industry, as well as to become a globally recognised destination for tourism studies, according to the university.
Meanwhile, the new academic year will see the UTM launching its Bachelor of Science in International Business and Innovative Communication programme, the revamped Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Brand Management programme, two Masters programmes in the field of Events Management, as well as the Doctor of Business Administration programme.
