Everyone knows that Easter is one of the biggest celebrations among Christians, both the Catholics and Protestants. But, just like Christmas, the Resurrection Sunday nowadays is not only celebrated in a religious way. Some celebrate it as a mere tradition, while others simply have a good Easter brunch as children run around collecting Easter eggs.
We asked some people in Macau representing various communities – locals and migrants included – to find out what Easter means to them. Happy Easter everyone!

What is Easter to you?
Easter to me is about my Lord Jesus willing to die on the cross to redeem our sins.
What do you wish for this Easter?
I pray for all Christians around the world that we will continue to be protected and provided by God.

What is Easter to you?
The day is supposed to bring us closer to God.
What do you wish for this Easter?
I pray for all my brothers and sisters in Christ to be able to live as Christ has taught us in loving and forgiving so that Christ is evident in our lives and that others can get to know Him through us.

What is Easter to you?
Easter is one of the central days or holy days of Christianity. It honours the resurrection of Jesus three days after his death by Crucifixion.
What do you wish for this Easter?
I pray for the blessings and healing for everyone throughout the world who is celebrating Easter and praying for love, care and joy.

As someone who is agnostic, Easter doesn’t carry the same religious significance for me as it does for others. I don’t typically celebrate Easter in a traditional sense.

Regardless of the occasion, my hope for everyone is an increase in peace and a deeper respect for life and each other around the globe.
