Macau’s MPay as well as the Philippines’ GCash and HelloMoney are among 14 e-wallets from nine countries and regions that can now make payments in Hong Kong using their home apps through Alipay+, according to various media reports, citing Ant International’s recent statement.
Alipay+ is a suite of cross-border mobile payment and digitalisation technology solutions run by Ant International, which is part of the Ant Group, an affiliate company of the Alibaba group.
The other e-wallets include Changi Pay and OCBC Digital (Singapore), Hipay (Mongolia), Kakao Pay, Naver Pay and Toss Pay (South Korea), MyPB by Public Bank Berhad and Touch ‘n Go eWallet (Malaysia), TrueMoney (Thailand), as well as Tinaba (Italy), according to a report by TechNode Global.
