Philippine Vice-President Sara Duterte (pictured) has stepped down as the Southeast Asian country’s education secretary, Malacañang Palace announced yesterday.
In addition, she also stepped down as vice-chairperson of the country’s National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), as reported by the Philippine News Agency (PNA).
According to Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Garafil, Duterte did not provide a reason for her resignation as a member of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Romualdez Marcos Jr.’s cabinet.
Meanwhile, Duterte remains in her position as the country’s vice-president.
