Many Filipinos across the world, including in Macau, are proud of US-based Filipino dental assistant Sofronio Vasquez (pictured) winning The Voice US season 26 on 10 December and Batangas beauty Liana Barrido being crowned as Miss Tourism International 2024 on Friday, with many of them posting the news on their social media accounts this week. Born Sofronio Parojinog Vasquez III in Misamis Occidental in 1992, Vasquez is the first Asian to win the US-version of reality TV singing contest The Voice. He has been living in the US since 2022.
