GENERAL AND LOCAL RESIDENTS’ UNEMPLOYMENT RATES FOR MAY- JULY REMAIN LOW AT 1.7 AND 2.3 PER CENT

The general and local residents’ unemployment rates in Macau from May to July remained low, with the figures standing at 1.7 and 2.3 per cent, respectively. Both indicators stayed the same as the previous period (April-June). 

Meanwhile, the underemployment rate dropped by 0.2 percentage points to 1.3 per cent. 

The labour force living in Macau stood at 383,100 with total employment numbering 376,400, which included 286,300 local residents, showing the number of employed local residents falling by 700, according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
