Former mayor of Bamban, Tarlac turned fugitive Alice Guo was arrested in the Indonesian city of Tangerang in the early hours of 4 September and was deported back to the Philippines on 5 September, reportedly about a month and a half after fleeing the country.
Guo is facing various accusations, including having links to Chinese criminal syndicates and her alleged involvement in illegal gambling. Investigations into her have also led to her identity as a Filipino citizen being questioned, according to various media reports.
